Thanks so much for the info and resources on heat pumps, David! We have a mini-split in one room, and would like to do the rest of the house. A couple of houses on our street already do. We went with gas back when it was the thing to do. Boiler, on-demand hot water, cooking, even drying, although I use my solar dryer (in the back yard) year-round, was much as I can. Now we'd like to get rid of it all. Looking at induction cooktops next. We've been using the exhaust vent whenever we cook, but it's very noisy.
